WoN studio is New York-based international award-winning design studio. WoN studio was founded in 2012 by director Yongwon Kwon. Yongwon Kwon is a licensed architect in US.He has been awarded in several international design competitions and his works have been exhibited in Seoul, Shanghai, and New York. He received a Master of Architecture from Columbia University in 2015 and graduated from Korea University with Bachelor of Architecture. He has worked for well-known architect companies including SHOP architect in New York, OMA in HongKong, and Open architecture in Beijing.
He has attempted to provide architectural responses to urban issues and potentials identified in the researches and interviews with hopes to probe highly dense metropolitan area. The mode of experiments deployed is intentionally typologically driven and provocative at times, as more than being readily implementable. They act as a set of strategies that open the densely packed existing conditions and discover sites of new possibilities within.
